Graphic Design & Print: Frequently Asked Questions
1. What kind of artwork is acceptable?
  • Vector formatted artwork is preferred, created in Illustrator or Corel Draw (.eps, .ai or .cdr).
  • Text must be converted to curves or outlines.
  • If vector artwork is not available, Muldoon's in-house graphic designer can convert or create vector artwork. We'd be happy to provide a quote.
2. What is Vector Artwork?
  • Vector artwork is created on the computer using graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw etc.
  • Vector artwork allows the artist to manipulate the artwork, for instance if the logo needs to be made larger, the artist can do so without affecting the quality of the artwork.
  • Unlike vector artwork, scans can't be manipulated because they weren't created on a computer. A scan is like a photograph; one flat element that can't be changed.
  • Examples of artwork that are NOT in vector format include: photographs, letterhead, photocopies, business cards, faxed art, jpegs, gifs, powerpoint (.pps), word (.doc, .wdp).
